We are brand ambassadors for Wall Control and they provided the product we used.
If you're a collector of Lego, you know that all the tiny pieces are very hard to sort and store. Steph has tried many systems over the years to try to contain and control the chaos, but nothing has proven to be perfect.

By utilizing Wall Control panels to enlarge the Lego Wall, and using plastic Wallwerx jars, we think this is pretty much the perfect solution for all those small pieces.

Take a look and see if you agree.

You'll need a few tools to install the wall control panels including a level and drill driver and bits.
In addition to the screws and anchors that come with the panels, you'll need eye protection, hearing protection, level, something to mark with, and 1/8 inch drill bit if your panels are going into a stud, or a 1/4 inch drill bit for dry wall. We use both a drill and impact driver as it makes the process go faster as we don't have to keep switching out bits.
We are expanding the Wall Control lego wall with an additional four panels.
This unused space behind the door is where the new panels will go. We did the math and found that the panels and jars would not impact the function of the door.

After holding the panel to the wall, we marked the holes, and then drilled the holes for the anchors. We used a rubber mallet to gently tap the anchors into the wall.
How to install Wall Control panels. Partially tighten the screws and then when everything is level, fully tighten them.
We've found we get the best results by partially tightening the screws initially. After we are sure the panel is level, we go ahead and fully tighten the screws.
Can you use standard pegboard hooks with Wall Control panels. Yes, just choose the standard style with holes and slots to use a mix of traditional pegboard hooks and Wall Control accessories.
Wall Control sells two types of panels. The one on the left is their slotted version which is perfect with their shelves and hooks. The one we are using has the addition of holes. This is good the you want to use a mix of standard pegboard accessories and Wall Control ones. We are using the pegboard with the holes as the jar brackets are designed for standard pegboard holes.

Even though the jars tightly fill the space, they are easy to remove and return to the correct holder.

With 96 new jars, almost all the categories of tiny pieces have a new home. It's much easier to see and access these small parts.
How to Store and display Lego using Wall Control metal pegboard.
This is the original Lego Wall we assembled in 2020. All the small parts were stored in those four multi-drawer boxes. It worked for a while but the Lego collection outgrew those spaces.

The AFTER. How many changes can you spot since the original wall was installed?

Product for everything you see here:

  • Slotted Only Wall Storage Panel 32in Tall x 16in Wide (Wall Control)

  • 12in Deep Slotted Metal Pegboard Shelf Assembly (Wall Control)

  • 14in Slotted Metal Pegboard Accessory Hanger (Wall Control)

  • 8in Slotted Metal Pegboard Accessory Hanger (Wall Control)

  • (2) White Metal Pegboard Pack - Two 32in x 16in Pegboard Tool Boards (Wall Control)

By removing the multi-drawer units and small parts bins, we gained an entire shelf for Lego display. This configuration works so much better. Everything is much more organized.

Many thanks to Wall Control for providing the products we used in this installation. We have been Brand Ambassadors with them for a long time and always look forward to seeing how we can creatively use Wall Control panels, hooks, and accessories to keep all our stuff organized.
