Floor Cleaning Secrets from a Professional Cleaner

Sometimes you just NEED to call in a professional!

That's just what we did when we needed all the tile cleaned at my house. The tile has been down eight years and the thing I like about it is also what makes it so difficult to clean. This tile, which I would NEVER, EVER recommend has a lot of texture and that texture traps a lot of dirt that only comes clean with a lot of tedious cleaning. I don't know if you've notice, but I'm at an age where getting down on the floor to clean is just not going to happen!

About six months ago someone I follow on Facebook recommended his brother-in-law's new carpet/tile cleaning business. I tucked that information away and when we needed to find a cleaner for carpets at my son's house, I called Silver Lining Carpet Care and Restoration, which was the recommendation.

Robert Johnson, the owner, did such a great job on the carpets, that I scheduled an appointment to clean the floors at my house.
How to hire a carpet cleaner.
I don't know about you, but when I'm looking for a service provider, the look of the vehicle and the appearance of the technician is very important. Robert presents his business in a very professional manner. It's clear he has invested a lot of money in equipment and training which means when you hire him, you are getting a quality service. It's hard to know who to trust so when I go looking for a new service provider, I ask for recommendation from friends and neighbors. Websites like Facebook and NextDoor are great places to get feedback. Most people will also let you know who too NOT use. That information is just as important as recommendations on who to use.
Professional carpet cleaners can clean tile as well.
We had the carpets cleaned in this house as an alternative to having to replace them. It was amazing how good they looked after Robert was finished. He not only cleaned the carpets, but the tile as well.
When you have a lot of tile to clean a professional can do the job quickly.
This is my house. As you can see, there is a LOT of tile. If I had to do the flooring over, I'd use a high quality engineered product with a smooth finish that cleans well. That's something to keep in mind if you're planning to put in new flooring. Another tip: if you have someone putting in your tile, inspect the work before the finally payment. After Robert finished, we realized the reason the grout looked so dirty was when the tile was installed the "professional" used two different colors of grout!
Before and after tile cleaning.
This is the boys' bathroom. It's a small example of how well the tile and grout cleaned up. I didn't even remember the grout in there was a pinkish color!

Silver Lining works in Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. Call if you need floor cleaning. And, no, we don't get any commission! We are just happy to recommend a quality, local veteran owned small business. You can find him on Facebook.
