Whole30 MotherDaughterProjects.com
Here at Mother Daughter Projects we have begun a project that’s a little different from our normal DIYs. We are embarking on the Whole30 eating plan. Basically we are eating foods that are without additives & as close to their natural form as possible, eliminating grains, dairy & sugar.

There is an entire book about this so we won’t attempt to go into detail. The program is touted as a way to press reset on our eating habits & to discover, once dairy, grains, & sugar are added back, any ill affects these these foods might cause. Weight loss is NOT the focus of the plan, but may happen due to the lack of mindless eating of processed & sugary foods.

We have completed almost 7 days & here's what we have learned so far:

  • We have become aware of the importance of planning meals & not mindlessly eating whatever is close at hand.
  • It’s fun to cook together—Vicki at the stove & Steph prepping and reading the steps.
  • Fresh, home-cooked food is tasting really good.
  • We successfully ate out with the family. We chose a meal at a restaurant we could Whole30ize.
  • We are not feeling deprived!

Here are some of the foods we have been making.

Yum, these look amazing! It's always easier to make a change when you're working together. We've been doing something similar - cutting back on eating out, swapping out meat for veggies & grains, etc. Glad to see it's working out for y'all!
