Lion Display
This little Avon Lion bottle has been hanging out in the widow for a while. When I spotted him while working on the vignette, he looked like he’d make a great addition & provide a bit of additional green to the decor. (Did you spot the other green object—the little ink dyed wood block with the word “wicked”—a little nod to MotherDaughterProjects very favorite broadway musical!)
Raw Materials:
  • Vintage Avon bottle with aftershave removed (my kitchen smelled wonderful for a couple of hours after that!)

Purchased or from personal craft stash
  • Oil Rubbed bronze spray paint
  • White vinegar or rubbing alcohol
  • Gold metallic craft paint
  • Old t-shirt rag

Use the vinegar or alcohol to clean the lion of grease & fingerprints. Once dry, very lightly spray the oil rubbed bronze. You’re going for a very translucent look.

Dab a bit of craft paint onto the rag, blot so it’s almost dry, rub accent areas with the paint. Immediately polish off the paint with a clean rag. Continue until you have the look you want.

Pop in a short glow stick & replace the lion’s head for a fun effect.
