When I was in the process of buying my home, I had a home inspection done. It was very thorough. One thing I remember being on the report, which at the time I thought was a little silly to point out on an inspection, were three holes in the outside stucco. It looks like the previous owner drilled three anchors and screws into the stucco to place something on the wall.

As I plan to paint the stucco one day (my house is yellow and I am not a fan) I didn’t think the holes were a big deal and didn’t do anything about them.

Well, on the 4th of July this year, we did our annual parade around my house and my brother was on the tail end. He came over and told me he just fought off a wasp and it came out of one of the three stucco holes! I was pretty shocked something could be in there. This made me decide it was time to fill the holes!

I went searching for the right product and found a Stucco Crack Repair product by Quikrete. I ordered the product, and as you can see in this video, it was very easy to apply. I made sure to check the holes for bugs and any loose materials before applying. It would be great to paint the patches with the same yellow paint but I don’t have any of that paint but that will have to wait as I would like to repaint the whole house in the near future. So for now, the stucco is patched and sealed so no bugs or weather elements can cause harm.

This is one of those small maintenance problems that should be repaired to prevent a larger more damaging issue in the future. It's easier and less expensive to take care of a home maintenance issue when it is small.
