Last summer we tried out Wet & Forget, an outdoor cleaner that works over time. We shared that experience in this post. In this follow-up post and video we are sharing the results of that initial use of Wet & Forget. In our first application we sprayed a patch of siding at Steph's house as well as some pavers and garden blocks.

Take a look and see the results, six-months later!
Materials:
  • Wet and Forget (Amazon)
  • Wet and Forget Hose End (Amazon)
  • Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2 Gal. Chemical Sprayer (Home Depot)
The Ryobi 2-gal battery powered sprayer.
In our first application we used the Ryobi one-gallon battery powered chemical sprayer. This time around, we used their new 2-gal size. It's holds more so there is less refilling needing.
Before and after of garden blocks and pavers.
Take a look at the change, six months later, in the garden blocks and pavers. It's not perfect, but WOW what a difference. The Wet & Forget works over time; it's not instant cleaning.
The siding has stayed clean of algae.
The siding that we treated has stayed clean of mold, mildew, and green algae.
One side of the sidewalk is clean the other is not.
See that line? That's where we ran out of Wet & Forget so the sidewalk never got finished. There is a noticeable difference.
Mix one part Wet & Forget to five parts water.
We decided to take care of a few other problem areas outside Steph's house. We mixed up one part Wet & Forget to five parts water solution into the 2-gal sprayer. Tip: add the water first, then the Wet & Forget to avoid an over abundance of bubbles.
First up is a good spraying of the brick mailbox.
1) First up is a good spraying of the brick mailbox. We recently cleaned it and wanted it to stay that way so Wet & Forget is a good option for it.
Spraying the green algae on the outside of the porch.
2) This part of Steph's porch is always in the shade so green algae is a big problem. With the garden sprayer we were able to accurately apply the Wet & Forget without getting it inside the screen.
Spraying the fire pit blocks.
3) These garden block around the fire pit got the spray treatment as well. They also sport a lot of green as well as moss.

Here is a look at them just a few weeks after treating with Wet and Forget.
The rocks around the pond got treated.
4) Even the rocks around the pond got treated. There was all kinds of stuff growing on them.
The rocks need attention as well.
A few weeks after treatment (the middle one was not treated). I don't think rocks are something most people think about cleaning, but they need it as well especially if they are in a shady spot that allows stuff to grow on them.
This Wet & Forget attaches to a garden hose.
5) Once we had finished all the smaller, low to the ground projects, Steph turned her attention to finishing up all the siding on her house. While researching for this post, Steph discovered this new product from Wet & Forget specifically designed for hard to reach areas.
There are two nozzle settings.
This product attaches to a garden hose. The nozzle can be used in two positions: jet and fan.
The jet setting can reach up to the peak of the house.
The fan nozzle setting covers large areas very quickly while the jet setting can reach to the very peak of the house. It is a very well engineered product.
The jet feature worked well.
The peak is about 21' from the ground. In the jet mode the spray easily reached.

We'll be looking forward to seeing how things look in six months. Although, even in the few weeks since we've treated the various areas, we've already seen great results!

Please note: We are not sponsored by any of the companies/products that we used. We would like to thank Ryobi for providing the 2 gallon sprayer.

FYI: We are not professionals, and we don’t claim to be. This is what we found worked for our project. Yours may need a little different approach. Safety first!

Great job, girls! Love the demonstration! Just what I needed. Will be tackling our siding once the weather warms up. Thank you!
