I have loved Lego most of my life. In high school, when my brother went into the military, I got to take over his room. This meant I had a bedroom, bathroom, and extra room all to myself! I went to decorating them in my style and the bathroom got a Lego makeover. Since that time, I've wanted to expand on that theme and make a whole Lego room! I told myself- "one day when I get my own house I will have a room just for my Lego collection!"
No one thought I would really do it (even me) but in 2013 I bought my first house- and there it was- a room for my Lego collection! I guess I could have made it a guest room or office- but I had another room for that. I went to work right away at creating the ultimate adult lego room! (What makes it adult? Maybe that it’s more organized than a kid's room typically would be :) 6 Steps to the Ultimate Lego Room!
#1 Storage and Organization
#2 Display
#3 Play Space
#4 Decorate
#5 Sets vs. Personal Creations
#6 Kid Play for All the Toys
The biggest joy of this room is that my nephews and niece love it! They love to go to “Stephie’s house” to play in the Lego room. Seeing the joy and fun they have in the room- that we have playing together- is the best feeling. My Lego collection at the end of the day is meant to be played with!
The boys enjoy taking apart sets and making new creations, and I’m ok with that. At first they were afraid to “break” my sets or touch anything. I always tell them- "you can’t break Lego- if you take something apart we can always put it back together." My Lego room is designed for creativity, fun, and play! I love this Lego room you created and your through explanation! These lego displays are the best that I have ever seen! My son has collected and built so many sets and your room has given me ideas and inspiration to display them in different ways! All of the details you've put in your room is incredible. I can't wait to show this to him and get started. Thank you so much 😊

Looking for ideas to redo our Lego room and this gave me good inspiration. I love that your room is kid friendly and how you tagged the tool caddy w pics of what is within. I use the same caddy and this idea will help make it more user friendly. Cheers!
