We recently attended an outdoor tool event sponsored by The Home Depot. There were about 20 or so online content creators and media folks invited to the event. Although we didn't get a chance to really talk to the others attending, we did meet Leah from See Jane Drill and met a representative from This Old House.

The event gave us a chance to see some new outdoor tool innovations, try them out and talk with brand experts. We took lots of video and notes so we could share all we learned with all of you. Here's a brief look what we experienced at the event (please watch the video above for more info).

Outdoor Power Tools:

  • Ego 56v Cordless 21” Self-Propelled Mower (Home Depot)
  • Ego 56v Cordless Backpack Blower (Home Depot)
  • Ego 56v Cordless Powerload String Trimmer with Carbon Fiber Shaft (Home Depot)
  • Ryobi 40v Hedge Trimmer (Home Depot)
  • Ryobi 40v Self-Propelled Mower (Home Depot)
  • Ryobi 2300 Generator (Home Depot)
  • Ryobi Pressure Washer (Home Depot)
  • Honda 2200 Generator (Home Depot)
  • Dewalt 20v Blower (Home Depot)
  • Dewalt 20v Chainsaw (Home Depot)
  • Echo PAS Paddle Attachment (Home Depot)
  • John Deere Zero-Turn Mower (Home Depot)
  • Milwaukee Cordless String Trimmer (Home Depot)
  • Milwaukee Cordless Blower (Home Depot)
  • Toro 22” Recycler PowerReverse Personal Pace SmartStow Mower (Home Depot)
The Toro gas powered lawnmower.
This Toro self propelled lawnmower with "personal pace" and power reverse was truly effortless to use--it can move with only one hand! It's gas powered, packed with lots of consumer friendly features like anti vibration and folds up for easy storage.
John Deere zero turn mower.
Steph had way too much fun with this zero-turn riding mower from John Deere. Too bad her yard is the size of a postage stamp!
DeWalt chainsaw.
This DeWalt chainsaw is light enough for me to manage easily.
Ego backpack blower.
This Ego backpack blower was a favorite of Steph's. This company was new to us. We were impressed with their innovation, quality, and attention to consumer feedback.
Milwaukee hedge trimmer.
Milwaukee power tools are top notch and their outdoor tools prove they are worthy of the Milwaukee name! This hedge trimmer was light but powerful!
Echo paddle attachment.
This paddle attachment by Echo is so cool. It's just one of many attachments designed to fit one power head.
Folding Toro lawnmower.
Yes, this is a folding lawnmower by Toro allowing you to save space in the garage!

One last photo at the end of our very informative and busy day. Thanks Home Depot!
These are just some of the tools we saw. Be sure to watch the video for highlights from all the tool manufacturers we saw and talked to.

We can't leave out the fact that we got to talk lawns with the groundkeepers from Fenway Park and East Lake Golf Club. They are very passionate about lawns and lawn care. It was a pleasure to visit with them!
