We have installed many smart home products in our homes over the years. Each one providing its own unique services, conveniences, and potential money saving features. Setup
To get started, plug the bridge into a power outlet, and then the ethernet cord into your home router.
Download the free Philips Hue app from the app store and follow the prompts for setup.
With the app set up, it’s time to install the bulbs! You can install the bulbs into your lamps, pendant lights, and more.
Steph has bulbs installed in her sofa table lamp, 2 overhead can lights, and dining room pendant. Again, follow the app prompts once you have added the bulbs to their fixtures.
Smart Lights
With the Hue kit bridge and bulbs installed and set up, you now have a ton of control and options for the smart bulbs. With the app, you can...
- Change the color temperature to wake you up or calm you down
- Change the color to fit your mood - With the ‘home & away routine,’ your lights will auto turn off when you leave, and turn on when you return home.
- Apple HomeKit allows you to use your Apple devices to tell Siri, “Turn off overhead light” and more.
Over the years, we have found Philips Hue to be an extremely reliable system for both our homes and love the smart features! Once you get this kit installed, you’ll wonder how you lived without being able to control your lights from your couch!
