We made a sort of impulse purchase at The Home Depot of a Artika pendant light. I've been wanting to remove a ceiling fan/light from a space that doesn't really need a fan but it does need a light and this fixture looked like it would be great for the space.

We've actually installed quite a few Artika lighting fixtures. The instructions are clear and straight-forward making them relatively easy to install.

Product:

  • Artika Nova 15-Watt 1 Light Black and Gold Modern 5 CCT Integrated LED Mini Pendant Light Fixture for Kitchen Island (Home Depot)

  • Artika Nova 15W LED Large Ball Pendant Light Fixture for Kitchen Island, Black and Gold - 1100 Lumens, Tunable White Color Technology (Amazon)

  • WAGO Lever Nuts Wire Connector (Amazon)

  • Wire Stripping Tool (Amazon)

This is the fixture on the shelf. See that yellow sticker--it's on clearance!
The color temperature can be adjusted on the Artika Nova Ball light fixture.
Here's the color temperature info on the back of the box.
The Artika Nova Ball has tunable white technology.
Adjustable color temperature is a great feature so you can match a new lighting fixture with existing ones.
This is 2700K which is a warm white.
This is also an Artika lighting fixture with adjustable color. There's a switch on the outside of the fixture making it easy to change.
Here the fixture is set at 3300K. You can see how it changes from warm to cooler lighting.

How do I know what color temperature to set my light fixture on.
And here, at 4500K, is the brightest, bluest light. Color temperature is very personal. Some like warmer colors and other thrive in this bright light.
Turn off the power at the circuit box before attempting any electrical work.
After turning the power off at the circuit box, Steph took down the old fan.
Select the color temperature on the Artika Nova Ball before installing the fixture.
Here's the color temperature selection box in the new Nova Ball light fixture. We set ours at 3000K.
Follow See Jane Drill for great DIY content.
The screws for attaching the mounting hardware were too long so Steph used this trick she learned from "See Jane Drill." Use wire strippers, put the screw into the correct size hole in the middle, close the handles and the screw will be cut to the length you need.

With the screws now cut to size, the mounting hardware easily attached to the ceiling.
Almost finished installing the Artika Nova Ball lighting fixture to the ceiling.
The wires are now connected and the wires pulled into the canopy for the length we wanted.
The last thing is to screw the canopy into the mounting hardware which completes the install.

Here's the Artika Nova Ball light turned on and in place. It's a nice addition to the space.
What do you think? Did we get the color setting right? What is your preference warm or cooler temperatures?

My personal favorite is warmer lighting.
