Steph didn't love the traditional ceiling fan at her house and was ready for a change.

We and by we, I mean Steph, has installed a number of enclosed blade ceiling fans with integrated LED lighting. It's a fan but there are no large blades extending from the fixuture. We really like the streamline look.

Steph had been looking for a replacement ceiling fan and when she saw this Artika brand one on the Costco website, she ordered it.

We've installed a lot of Artika lighting and really like the modern, bright look of their fixtures.

Take a look at how we installed this Artika Edwin LED Ceiling Fan Chandelier!

Products:

  • Artika Edwin LED Ceiling Fan / Chandelier (Costco)

  • Artika Edwin 25 in. Modern Integrated LED Indoor Brushed Nickel Low Profile 3 Blade Fandelier Ceiling Fan with Light and Remote (Home Depot)

  • Home Decorators Collection Dialstone 23 in. Integrated CCT LED Indoor/Outdoor Matte Black Ceiling Fan with Remote Control (Home Depot)

How to install the Artika Edwin enclosed blade fan.
Here's the fan as it arrived from Costco. Everything was here and there was no damage.
Here's a look at how the Artika Edwin LED fan light was packaged.
The LED enclosed blade fan was well packaged. We left that packing plastic on the light part until we were finished to protect the finish.
To replace the fan we first turned off the power and removed the old ceiling fan.
There was nothing wrong with this fan other than the style. We took it to the thrift store so hopefully someone will have a use for it.
We had to replace the support box from the existing three inch box to a four inch.
The new fan needed a larger support box so we picked one up at the Home Depot.

Steph removed the old support box. She used a multitool to create a larger opening and then installed the four inch box.

Here Steph is adding the fan mount to the newly installed ceiling box.

All the parts are assembled and it's now time to install!

There is a hook that attaches to the support to temporarily hold it while you wire it.
How to wire a ceiling fan.
Steph followed the instructions to properly wire this fan. The hardest part is getting all those wires to fit into the canopy!

Lastly, the canopy is pushed into place and the screws are tightened.

With the fan in place, Steph then removed the protective plastic wrapping.

With the power back on, we tested it and it works!
What to do if you see a light at the top of your ceiling fan.
What is this annoying light?
Here's the fix if there is light showing at the top of your ceiling fan.
Oh, look, this light is on, but why?
Put a piece of black electrical tape over the light to block it.
The fix is to take the canopy back off and place a piece of black electrical tape over the offending light.
This ceiling fan light combo is remote controlled.
The light and fan are controlled by this remote.

This Artika fan was really easy to install. There are plenty of options for light brightness and fan settings.

It was a little annoying to discover the green light AFTER the install was complete. It was an easy enough fix to remove the canopy and tape over the light.

If you are installing a fan light this, but it's a different brand, it would be worthwhile to check to see if it has an indicator light and to take care of it before finalizing the install.
