We've had our Ranger model Solo Stove for about a year and a half. In that time, we've accumulated quite a few tools and supplies to use with it.

In lieu of buying a premade storage station, Steph came up with an idea for a storage unit that would hold the fire pit, as well as all the gear.

Wall Control metal pegboard helps to optimizes the space for efficient organization of all the gear.

How to build storage for a solo stove and gear like tongs and pokers.
All the measurements for our storage station are based on this purchased firewood cover we ordered from Amazon.
Repurposing a Husky adjustable workbench top.
We had this top left over from a Husky adjustable work bench which we will use for the top and shelf.
We are going to use these Wallwerx plastic jars.
We are using a variety of Wall Control panels and accessories including these plastic jars which will hold things like fire starters and gloves.
Cutting the top of the fire pit storage with a Makita track saw.
We cut the tabletop to size with a Makita track saw. The measurements are based on the size of the cover we purchased.
Cutting the 2x4s on a Milwaukee miter saw.
We cut the 2x4s to size to make the legs. This length will insure the cover does not drag on the ground. We also cut pieces to support the shelf and to support one of the Wall Control fun panels.
The supports are connected to the legs with pocket holes and wood glue.

This is a view of the underside of the supports that will hold the shelf.
The fire pit station will have a middle shelf where the Solo Stove will sit.
Here we are cutting out the corners of the shelf. We set up the Makita rail as a guide and used a jig saw to cut them out. This set up worked extremely well to get nice precise cutouts.

Here we are finishing up adding the two Wall Control fun panels and strip. The panels come in many colors but we used the galvanized ones which look great with the look of the Solo Stove fire pit.

The use of Wall Control panels allowing us to keep our fire pit, accessories, and fire wood easily accessible.
The position of the fun panel on the right was determined by how far those jars hung down. The panel is attached to the station's legs and the other panel is attached to those supports we added earlier.
The solo stove station is finished with all the gear including fire pit tools in place.
Check out the end of the video where Steph shares all the gear that is organized on the station.
There's even a place to hold the solo stove ranger handle.
Look inside and you'll find some stealth storage on the back side of the Wall Control panels. Here we added a couple of hooks to hold the handle when not in use.
There is a place to hold the lid as well using a Wall Control long hook and one shorter one.
The lid is pegged on this side with these two cleverly placed hooks!

This was not the original location for the station to sit, but it turned out to be the perfect location between a tree and post. The tree has some hooks on it (that were put there before Steph moved in) that easily hold the cover when not in use. The post has three plant hooks. We adjusted two of the hooks which now hold the ash can and a light over the station. We set the station on pavers which is also a place to store firewood.
The cover fits well, doesn't drag the ground and everything is hopefully sealed up well to keep out the elements.

The post beside the fire pit station holds a fern, ash bucket, and solar light.
Here you can see how we utilized those three post hooks. That was a happy accident! The light is from Sam's Club and is solar powered or can be charged with a cable. There's a remote and it has various light settings. It's perfect for the space!
The DIY fire pit station also functions as a prep space or a high top table.
The top of the station functions as a prep space or a place to stand to eat or drink. That is one advantage of this DIY station as the top of the branded one can not be used in this manner. Ours is just the right height for standing and prepping.
We pre-stage all the s'more fixing we can bring out at moment's notice.
We also made a s'more station to hold all the fixings, and can easily sit on the station when in use.

No matter hot it gets, it's always s'more time. We like the marshmallows golden brown, not burnt!

We think this is a pretty perfect solution for storing our fire pit, accessories, and firewood. The cover should keep everything protected from the elements. It comes off very easily and having the tree hook nearby keeps it off the ground and out of the way when not in use.

Steph did a great job optimizing the space to provide a place for everything. The Wall Control metal pegboard really allows us to store all the gear efficiently. It functions extremely well and all the tools and accessories are right were we need them.

Many thanks to Wall Control for providing
the panels and accessories we used in this build. Because we are brand ambassadors for Wall Control and have a discount code you can use on your Wall Control order. Use code "MDP" for a discount on your order!
