In the video above, I talk about what happened and where I am today. Below I share some issues I had I had with the smart blind. I found through internet research, ways to fix them. Charging: pulsing white light. Fully charged: steady white light. Error: flashing red light. How do I set the maximum drop on the blinds? Move the blinds to the desired position using the remote control or buttons on the blind. When the blind is in the desired position, you can double press the up or down button on the blind to save this position as the new maximum level of extension. Fix when remote battery needs to be replaced or blind battery needs to be charged (Source: Reddit) 1. Push two buttons on blind till they glow white 2. Push reset button on remote 4 times 3. Push and hold remote reset button 10 sec near repeater (with battery side facing repeater) 4. Then push and hold remote reset button near blind till light goes off and blind moves (with battery side facing battery of blind) Blind not working, motor issue: Reddit As I was working on this video, I did find one person mention that the blind is suppose to have a 5-year warranty on it. When calling Ikea tech support, the person said there was nothing Ikea could do about the broken blind. I found the PDF of this on IKEA's website about the 5-year warranty, and will try to get it covered under warranty by going to the store. If this works I will do an update on what happened.
