We're following up on our Scotts 2-bag yard improvement project.

Earlier this year, we applied Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action South to Steph's yard. The second bag was to applied eight weeks later.

So, it's eight weeks later and time to apply the UltraFeed, to keep the yard green all season long! Check out the video to see the progress we've made in Steph's yard and on mine!

Products:

  • Scotts Turf Builder 13.42 lb. 4,000 sq. ft. Triple Action South Lawn Fertilizer (Home Depot)

  • Scotts Turf Builder 20.2 lbs. 4,000 sq. ft. UltraFeed Lawn Fertilizer (Home Depot)

  • Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader (Home Depot)

  • Scotts Wizz Spreader (Home Depot)

Two bags to improve you yard with Scotts Triple Action followed by Scotts Ultra Feed exclusive to the Home Depot.
Here are the two lawn products we used. First the Turf Builder followed by Ultra Feed eight weeks later. We applied the first bag to Steph yard in February but didn't get to my yard until later.
We used a Scotts broadcast spreader.
When it was time to do my yard, we brought everything over to my house. I poured the Triple Action in the broadcast spreader and got started.
Walking the property to spread the Triple Action.
Unlike Steph's tiny little yard, the yard at my house is big! It took much more time to walk the property and spread the Triple Action.
Watering in the Scotts triple action.
After spreading the Triple Action, I watered it in. It was at this point, I wished I had a sprinkler.
Using the Scotts triple action in the backyard.
But wait! There's more yard back here. I went through the entire process back here as well!
Using a hose to water in the Scotts Triple Action Turf Builder.
More watering in, but this time I found the nozzle to the hose making watering in the Ultra Feed in the backyard to much easier!
The yard before applying Scotts Triple Action South.
This yard is the result of years of neglect. It's hard to tell but there are so many weeds. We've never done any regular weed control other than pulling a few here and there. The yard was in desperate need of care!
Seven weeks after applying Scotts triple action south. Quite and improvement.
This is almost seven weeks after applying the Scotts Triple Action South. It is the best I've ever seen it look. There are fewer weeds and the ants have moved elsewhere!

The backyard before.
The dollarweed is starting to be killed by the Scotts Triple Action South Turf Builder.
And AFTER. The biggest thing I've noticed back here are the absence of fire ants, and there were a lot! Also, there don't seem to be any new sandspur weeds which previously were prolific especially near the concrete.. There's dollar weed back here that is still there but it does look like it is starting to die back. Rather than looking bright green it has taken on a yellowish appearance.

Time to apply the Ultra Feed.
Time to apply the Ultra Feed back at Steph's house.
Spreading the Scotts Ultra Feed.
Simply pour in the product and walk the property to apply.
Watering in the Scotts Ultra Feed.
The sprinkler we bought was way to much for this tiny yard, so I just picked it up and used it like a hose nozzle. It worked to water in the Ultra Feed.
Before applying any of the Scotts Triple Action or Ultra Feed.
After showing the improvements to the weed and fire ant situation in the front yard.
It has improved considerably. There are some bare spots in the yard, but in time, we think the grass will fill in those area. But all in all, it is an improvement. Bonus, the fire ants have relocated to an area next to her yard that wasn't treated!
The clover in the front yard.
This clover was thick at the edge of the yard.
The Scotts triple action took care of all the clover weeds.
Over about a period of six weeks, all of that clover died back! It is now clover free.
Showing a fire ant pile in the yard.
And this fire ant pile...
No more ant pile. The Triple Action got rid of the ants.
Gone! It's good to have that gone so the dogs don't step in it and get bitten.
We are very pleased with the improvement so far to our yards. Each of our yards had been neglected over the years as neither of us previously did any weed control or feed our yards.

Actually, taking care of the yard seemed overwhelming due to the number of products that you could use.

Being able to use just two bags of product made the prospect of lawn care easy and uncomplicated.

I think overtime with the regular application of these two products, we both will see continued improvements to our yards with fewer weeds and healthier looking grass.
