Were you one of the millions that purchased an Amazon Fire TV Stick on Prime Day? We confess, we did! The Fire TV Stick is hardware that plugs into an existing HDMI port on your TV. With this device you can watch Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and more!

In each of our homes, we have many Alexa enabled (Amazon) devices so it made sense to give the Fire TV Stick and Alexa Voice Remote a try.
Opening the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Everything you need to get started is included in the box--batteries included!
Adding batteries to the Alexa voice Remote.
Insert the batteries and then you're ready to connect the system to your TV.
Insert the Amazon Fire TV stick into an empty HDMI port on the TV.
The HDMI ports are located on the side of Steph's TV. Look around, yours may be in a different location.
Plug the Fire Stick plug into an outlet.
There's a plug on the Fire Stick that needs to be put into an outlet. Now you're ready to set up the device!
Using the Alexa Voice Remote, go through the set up prompts.

YouTube is up and ready to stream on our TV.
There it is, YouTube on our TV. Note, the Fire TV Stick does not give your access to streaming services like Netflix for free. It enables you to see all your paid subscriptions in one place on your TV.
Alexa, find DIY for Homeowners!
You can type in what you are looking for or use the Alexa Voice remote and just tell it what you are looking for, "Alexa, go to DIY for Homeowners!" And there we are!

Ahhhhh, it's much easier to watch YouTube on a big screen than it is on a phone!
Watch YouTube videos on your TV.
When you get to the end of a video you can click on those boxes on the left and continue watching.
I (Vicki) have to admit that I find TV watching very complicated these days. I miss the days of only having three channels--ahhhhh, it was so simple back in the day! I am though, working hard to understand all the TV watching choices and I'm proud to say, I can navigate Steph's TV to find what I want!

Like many, my TV viewing habits have changed. No longer do I watch when programs are scheduled, but enjoy the luxury of watching on my terms. I have been known to binge watch a series or two! (One of my favorites is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! How about you? Let me know in the comments below).

Do you watch YouTube? On your phone, computer, or TV? What streaming device do you use on your TV?
