...and the new color is...purple!
In our visit to Wall Control last fall, we were told that work was underway to bring two new colors to the Wall Control line up. Earlier this month, we got word that the new new colors were in production and a sample would be coming our way! Since purple pegs are not available yet, they sent along some color peg possibilities. It was a no brainer for us to choose the blue! Follow along as we share our install of one of the two new colors. (P.S., pink is also available now!)
This is a little hack I discovered halfway into the install. I was having trouble marking the screw holes with a pen and thought there had to be a better method. I didn't have time to make a marking tool, but discovered one of our new Bosch spade bits would work quite nicely to mark the drill hole. I simple put the spade bit into the panel hole, gave it a quick tap, and moved onto the other five! We found it to be way more accurate to mark the hole this way.
The finished wall. It's a beautiful sight! That long row of shelves was an important part of this Wall Control set up. If you look at our BEFORE picture, you'll see the shelf with the screw jars. We've gotten very used to the convenience of that set up and wanted to recreate it with Wall Control. We originally had the screw jars sitting on top, but realized, DUH, the shelves are metal. We added some rare earth magnets to the jar tops and now they store easily under the shelves. That leaves more room for other things!
I wished we had shown you an overview of the entire garage because finishing up the Wall Control wall set up an entire garage clean up! We were able to free up a lot of space in the garage once we moved our tools to the wall and out of their makeshift storage places.
The best thing about the wall is that we can see everything thing we have. Things are easy to locate AND to put back! Seems like there is more promoting products than DIY on the site. Getting free products to test and promote is great, but not every Diy can afford them. That is why were called DIY'ers.

Hi William, Thanks for taking the time to write us a comment. When we agree to use a product from a company, we take under consideration if we feel it would be of interest and value to our readers, as well as if it is something we’d use in our own homes. We are not under the impression that a reader will see and make a project exactly as we present. For example, we know that a reader is not going to out and purchase a full wall of metal pegboard, but he or she might be intrigued enough to want to install one of the value priced kits. We know you’ve been a long time follower, and we truly appreciate your comment and honest feedback!

Yes, I appreciate William's comments, but also I appreciate the exposure to new and more efficient products that are being brought to my attention. Having installed many SF of a commercial grid system, which is not very efficient, I am impressed with this system M & D has shown. As a suggestion to Steph & Vicki, maybe you could publish what the average SF cost would be to the viewer. This could help identify the cost to the viewer. I also have to say, from following your program from the very first one, the products you demonstrate are top quality, and as anything else, "You get what you pay for." There are many, many products that are out there and not worth the time to install. I have never seen any of those featured on your program. Thanks for keeping us informed.

I agree with Gary. You always have quality products and some really great ideas. And, you have featured many inexpensive ideas and products (ie: the PVC panel that hides the air conditioner and the raised dog feeder). Keep up the good work ladies. As a female DIYer, I really appreciate what you do.
