Over the years, we've tweaked and improved our garage Wall Control pegboards. This latest improvement was quick and easy and took care of a couple of issues.

Read on to see this quick fix.

Product:

  • Wall Control RUBBER COATING HOOK AND ACCESSORY LINER (Wall Control)

  • Edge Trim Black Small 0.375" U Height X 0.039" - 0.093" Grip Range (25 Feet) (Amazon)

Lining the Wall Control hooks with flexible rubber trim.
This flexible wire and rubber trim will line the Wall Control hooks to add extra security, eliminate noise, and prevent any damage due to metal on metal contact.
The flexible trim slides easily onto the Wall Control hooks.
The trim slides easily into place and can be cut with tin snips or heavy duty scissors.
Discount code to Wall Control is MDP15.
You can also line just one part of the hook like this one.
Adding flexible rubber trim to the hook that hold multiple hammers.
Lining was added to keep the hammers more securely in place.
Another bonus is the elimination of nose as the hammers are removed from the hook.

The trim can also be cut into small pieces to act as stop blocks.

This fan was not overly secure on the hook.

Better securing the Makita battery powered fan on the Wall Control wall.
The addition of the two small pieces of trim insures the fan will not fall off the wall should we accidentally bump it.
Better securing the tripods on the tech Wall Control wall.
We also made improvements to the Wall Control tech setup. These tripods get moved in and out of the pegs a lot. Over time, the metal on metal friction has caused some rubbing on the metal. Lining the pegs with the flexible trim has eliminated any problems with this.
All the tripods are super secure now!

The soft handles on a couple of tools were starting to wear as they were put on and taken off their hooks.

Done!
Using this flexible trim is such an easy fix and so smart! In fact, while Steph and I were writing the video script, it occurred to me that I had a Wall Control hook that absolutely needed this simple fix! Duh!

My Hoover ONEPWR vacuum hangs from a long hook but isn't very secure. It hangs in a very small hallway and is always at risk for getting bumped. A bit of trim would totally take care of the problem.

Steph found another use for the flexible trim. This is not a universal problem, but one that really got on Steph's nerves!  As her dogs eat, the metal bowls rattle in the holder. Steph really disliked that sound. She added trim to the perimeter of the bowls and now, no more noisy bowls!

She's also been able to wash them in the dishwasher without any problem.
