By putting the trashcan in a cabinet, valuable floor space is freed up and keeps the trash protected from nosey pets! Blog Post 2. Replace Oven PartsIf your oven quits heating correctly, the problem could be an inexpensive fix of the heating element saving lots of money over the price of a brand new stove. The hardest part of this repair is getting the correct size heating element! Oh, and see if the door to your oven is removable as this little hack makes replacing the element as well as cleaning the oven much, much easier! Blog Post 3. Clean Your Vent HoodThis is probably one of the most neglected places in our homes! The vent hood gets really gross from doing its job. You'll find grease as well as mold that needs to be cleaned. It's not a difficult task but it will take some time and elbow grease. You might also want to consider a replacement filter as these are really hard to clean if they are really dirty. Blog Post 4. Install Smart Water DetectorsUg, water leaks! The bane of homeowners everywhere! We finally put these smart water leak detectors everywhere in our homes after a couple of particular damaging water leaks! Blog Post 5. Fix Kitchen Sink ClogEvery homeowner needs a plunger for clogged sinks and toilets. When buying a plunger, just be aware that there are three different kinds, one for sinks, one for toilets, and a combination plunger that works for both. Blog Post 6. Clean Garbage DisposalIn thirty seconds you can have your garbage disposal clean and fresh smelling! Blog Post 7. Clean Bathroom Sink ClogIn most homes it doesn't take much time for the water in a bathroom sink to start draining slowly, indicating a clog! The secret to removing a clog is learning how to remove the stopper and then using a tool like this to get the gunk out. Blog Post 8. Replace ToiletWe replaced a toilet a few years back and couldn't believe how relatively easy it was. We encountered no issues with the replacement and after it was installed it worked, and continues to work, perfectly! Blog Post 9. Re-caulk ShowerOver time, the caulking in a shower or bath can start to break down or is just too dirty to get clean. With the proper tools, it's a simple job to remove it and add fresh caulking. Do yourself a favor and get a Ryobi battery powered caulk gun. It's more expensive than a manual one, but it gets the job done quicker and more efficiently. Blog Post 10. Clean a ShowerheadIf you've noticed your shower head is not working at peak performance, it may be time for a little maintenance. Over time, minerals build up in the nozzles and they stop working. A little vinegar and baking soda soak will clear it right up. Before using vinegar, check to be sure it is safe to use vinegar on your particular bathroom fixtures. Vinegar is NOT safe for all bathroom fixtures and CAN damage them. Blog Post
